The Round Top Antiques Fair Spring 2011 - Post #1 - Warrenton

What a great time we had in Round Top!
Our poor little eyes didn't know where to land first there was so much to see.
I think we both have whiplash from turning our heads from one side of the road to the other.
We've never seen so many show tents set up in Warrenton in our lives.
Of course, this was just our 5th time to go to the show - but still,
it seemed more crowded to us!

It will take us two weeks to recover from our twelve days in
Round Top and we are glad to be home in our own beds.
And we won't even discuss the laundry!

We'll begin with Zapp Hall.  This area is a happening place and it was literally stuffed with venues.  There didn't seem to be an inch of space available for another show tent.
It was a feast for the senses.
Pretty things to look at, food to smell, gorgeous thinks to touch,
people milling about talking and laughing.  Too much fun!

Our first visit to Zapp was for the blog party hosted by Garden Antqs Vintage
on the first Sunday of the show.
There were groups of people all over chatting and laughing.
We finally managed to navigate the area and find our way to Debbie
What an honor to meet Debbie and Cat Daddy!
Time for closing was getting closer and we walked around as quickly as we could and hurriedly snapped as many photos as the light would allow.

Walk way at Zapp Hall with goodies all around.

More goodies to look at.  Is that actually a pink garden umbrella?!?

Old fenders for VW Bugs, maybe?  Mercy, what a treat to see.  There was a little bit of everything there!
Wish we'd had a place to put one!

Look at those lamps and that pink teapot!  Lovely!
The yarn under the cloches is truly one of my favorite things.
Same shot, but aimed higher to capture the frames on the wall and that fabulous chandelier.  Gracious we love that!
Gold and a vintage white iron plant holder.  Would love to have had more time to look through this space.

Surely this is every girl's dream - a pink satin headboard.  Isn't it yummy?

Chippy, ironstone, vintage crochet, architectural pieces and old bottles.  Be still our hearts!

More ironstone!  How we love it!

What's not to love in this photo?  Absolutely nothin'!
The perfect shade of pink.

Look at this small dresser/chest.  Isn't it just perfect?  Love it too.
And the chair next to it should have come to live with us!

A gorgeous chest of drawers - look at those curvy legs.  Love 'em!

This gorgeous pale pink glider was on the side of Carolyn Westbrook's venue.
The linens dressing it are wonderful and vintage and soft looking.
We saw several people taking advantage of it during the evening.
Perfect place to people watch and glide.
This water fountain looked like it had been dry brushed with pink to highlight it.  How fun!
The Fleur De Lis finial on top was the icing on the cake!
This vignette was in front of Carolyn Westbrook's venue.  She has amazing linens.  Wowie!
I wanted to load up this fountain and bring it home!
You can get a peek of bloggers loading their plates with goodies at the blog party.  Yummy food!

What amazing goodies Theresa had in her space.
These ticking pillows are amazing.
My grandmother has some pillows like this that belonged to my great-grandmother
and I can't wait for them to be passed to me so that I can dress them up.

Theresa was completely surrounded at the blog party and
we didn't get to say hello to her and officially meet her.
Our three year old was getting a little wild at that point
from all of the sugar fixes during the day.
People just couldn't resist his handsome little face and offer him candy.
And it was a special time, so why not?!?
So we decided to cover as much territory as we could
before the sugar high turned in to a sugar crash!

Look at these watch faces artistically displayed.

Feeling the love for these cloches too.
Here are a few photos of one of my favorite venues.
But - I forgot to "find" the name on this space.
Can someone help me out and let me know who they are?
I even bought two treasures from them.  How sad is it that I can't remember who they are?
Just tells you how fast you must move to be able to see all that
you want to see before your shopping time is up!
They were located right behind Royer's Cafe at Zapp.

These long three panel mirrors caught my eye and I just had to go back and get one!  Aren't they gorgeous?

The long mirror in the back came home with me!  It was love at first sight!
I couldn't stop thinking about it!
Can't wait to fix it up and get it up on the wall.
More pink to make our hearts go pitter-patter!  I love the dress, it's so elegant looking.
It looks like something Princess Grace or Audrey Hepburn would wear in a movie with Cary Grant.

Oh my - look at all that pink!  What a sight!  I love it all!
As always, Zapp Hall did not disappoint.  Wish we'd had more time there.  Having a space of your own certainly limits shopping time.  But we enjoyed what little time we were able to get out and about.
I hope that if you went to the antiques fair, that it was all you hoped it would be and more!
It's not really something that you can explain to someone, it has to be experienced and lived.

Stay tuned for more!
